Greetings CLIA Members,
We want to wish you and your families health and safety while recognizing that everyone is working hard to manage their way through this challenging and unprecedented time in our history.
Spring Meeting postponed due to COVID19 and recommendations to limit social gatherings:
Be assured that we take the health and well-being of our community, sponsors and fellow members very seriously. Normally at this time of year we would be sending out an invitation to attend the CLIA Spring Membership Meeting, but as a result of the “Stay at Home” order and all efforts to maintain social distancing we will be postponing the CLIA Spring Member Meeting until further notice (potentially in place of the Fall Meeting in October).
Board member elections traditionally take place at the Spring meeting. During this unique postponement, those board members that are up for reelection have agreed to extend their board participation until we can conduct the nomination and election process by our members. Please consider stepping up and adding your name as a candidate for one of the association volunteer roles including: a board position (Vice President, Secretary, Member at Large), or a committee member/chairperson (Meat Raffles, Membership and Apparel are priorities) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Doing our part during difficult times. Watch your email and CLIA Website for some raffle fun:
In an effort to support our sponsors during these difficult business times, CLIA is purchasing Gift Cards or Vouchers from those businesses that offer them. Many years these are used for door prizes at the meeting, but with the meeting being postponed we’re going to do something a little different. Beginning in May we will be hosting an Online Raffle for our members.
We hope this unique contest brings a bit of relief to our business sponsors and some fun engagement to CLIA Members. Complete contest description and rules will be posted on the CLIA website and distributed through our membership email system.
Ongoing Education and Communication to CLIA membership:
It has been our practice and intention to continue to keep our membership informed about educational opportunities such as webinars and conference calls related to Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS), boating safety, lakeshore management, water quality and applying proper social behaviors on the water during these times of social distancing. Like you, we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and how it is going to impact life on the water.
In the absence of our ability to get together in person we’d like to take this opportunity to "Thank You" all for your membership and support of the Coon Lake Improvement Association. Please let us know about any other ideas you have to improve our communications, provide other opportunities for lake stewardship and engage friends, neighbors and lake residents to join our Lake Association.
Best wishes for a fun and safe season on the lake.
