Officers

President

Karrie Rugland

Term and Election Cycle:  2 years – beginning in June. Elected spring of odd years.

The president provides leadership, management, scheduling and planning for the association. The president must motivate members and delegate tasks to other board and committee members to meet the overall objectives of the association. He/she presides over the monthly board meetings and the annual general membership meetings. This includes but is not limited to creating and distributing meeting agendas and creating and presenting annual membership meeting presentations. In addition, the president is expected to attend the majority, if not all CLIA functions. Communication with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other state and local government bodies is expected. 

Vice President

Term and Election Cycle: 2 years beginning in June. Elected spring of even years.

The vice president presides over matters in the absence of the president. The vice president is expected to attend the majority, if not all CLIA functions. In cooperation with the president, communication with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other state and local government bodies is expected. The vice president is a voting officer that provides valuable input as part to of the decision making process for issues that affect Coon Lake and the residents of Coon Lake. All board members are expected to provide a lake related article for the "Coon Lake Living" newsletter.

Treasurer

Term and Election Cycle: 2 years beginning in June. Elected spring of odd years.

The treasurer balances the check book, makes recommendations for certificate of deposits, writes checks, accepts deposits, provides a monthly treasurer report to the board, provides an annual balance sheet, responds to government inquiries regarding finances and participates in an annual audit. The treasurer is a voting officer that provides valuable input into the decisions faced by the board. All board members are expected to provide a lake related article for the "Coon Lake Living" newsletter. The treasurer typically would provide a financial summary to the general membership via the newsletter and read the treasurer report at the annual meeting in May of each year.

Secretary

Term and Election Cycle: 2 years beginning in June. Elected spring of even years.

The secretary is a voting member of the Board and shall prepare minutes of all meetings of the Association and the Board. He/she shall maintain permanent records of the Association. He/she shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Board.

Term and Election Cycle: 2 years beginning in June. Elected spring of odd or even years depending on position.

The board members at large are voting officers that provide valuable input into the decisions faced by the board. Board members at large typically head up one of our committees and are expected to provide a lake related article for the "Coon Lake Living" newsletter. The board member at large position typically allows the association member to become comfortable with the decision making process and work towards accepting other positions of responsibility as additional experience is gained. Members-at-Large are encouraged to attend Coon Lake Improvement District (CLID) and Sunrise Water Management Organization (SWMO) meetings and report back to the board.
